USCA 2016 TARGET POPULATION:
USCA’s 2016 southern Florida conference locale provides a needed opportunity to address the epidemic among Puerto Rican and Caribbean populations – the target population for this year. As our communities encounter rising infection rates, new and innovative methods are needed to turn the tide. Attending USCA is the best way to gain those skills and learn best practices from those that are experiencing measurable results and positive change.

When you arrive, scan this code at any of the iPad check-in kiosks, located on TBD of the hotel to check-in and print your badge. PROTEST POLICY:
NMAC and its program partners encourage freedom of expression as an essential principle in the response to HIV. Activism has always played a central role in our movement and we encourage debate and dialogue as key elements of USCA, including the right to peacefully protest. However, NMAC and its partners oppose the disruption of conference sessions, satellite meetings or exhibitions that results in the inability of attendees to take full advantage of the learning and educational opportunities available at the conference. We ask that everyone respect the mission, spirit and integrity of USCA and use their best judgment if/when organizing demonstrations.

For those who will be organizing demonstrations or protests during any part of the conference, including the Exhibit Hall, we ask that you kindly inform Conferences and Meeting Services staff (conferences@nmac.org) and designate a contact person for your demonstration. We also ask that you:

  1. Limit all demonstrations in the conference exhibit hall to the hours of 10am and 2pm.
  2. Limit all demonstrations to no more than 15 minutes.
  3. Hold no more than one demonstration per day.

NMAC reserves the right to determine whether a demonstration is disruptive and/or detrimental to the mission and values of USCA. We appreciate the need for freedom of expression. We also want to balance this need with the needs of our constituents, sponsors and exhibitors to ensure that USCA is productive for everyone. As such, we require all attendees to follow these policies. If you do not, you may be escorted out of the conference and be banned from attending future NMAC sponsored conferences and events.

HURRICANE POLICY:
If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Fort Lauderdale area during the dates of September 14-19, 2016, registered attendees will be automatically credited their full registration payment towards the USCA 2017 conference, taking place September 7-10, in Washington, DC.

Contact your air/ground transportation and hotel directly to receive their hurricane policy and procedures. For further questions regarding NMAC’s Hurricane policy for USCA, contact smance@nmac.org
