The Mt. Sinai Institute for Advanced Medicine HIV/HCV Center of Excellence (IAM-COE) serves a significant role in the health care landscape, building capacity of health care providers to diagnose and care for patients with HIV as well as to promote prevention for at-risk patients. Funded through the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), the IAM-COE provides free clinical education resources for NYS clinicians to enhance their capacity to improve health outcomes.
Through facilitated discussion and interactive demonstrations, this session aims to highlight the following tools: (1) CEI Line which connects NYS medical providers to clinicians experienced in managing PrEP, (2) PrEP cards that detail clinically relevant information on recommended regimens, lab tests and monitoring, and resources for further guideline information, (3) PrEP trainings to provide presentations on guidelines, case-based examples, and patient perspectives, (4) PrEP technical assistance that provides experienced health providers to review and provide guidance on policy and procedure protocols for health organizations, and (5) PrEP videos available on the CEI website.
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
